Spark Is Live: Ask About Your Community, Get a Cited Answer
Why We Built It: From 7 Weeks to 20 Minutes
Every organization doing good work knows this feeling: you need one report, one number, one clear picture of your community, and getting there takes weeks you don’t have.
We saw it firsthand. A Household Food Security report that would normally take a team about seven weeks to compile, clean, and verify became a 20-minute task on Spark, with 99% field-level accuracy confirmed by a human analyst. We unlocked the same rigor in a fraction of the time.
That gap, seven weeks versus twenty minutes, is the reason Data Love Co. exists. Not because the people doing this work lack the skill to find the data, but because time, budget, or specialized tools to do it quickly are not unlimited. Program staff are stretched across intake, reporting, grant writing, and direct service. Funders need evidence to make confident decisions. And too often, the data that could answer a question is sitting in a public database somewhere, technically available but practically out of reach.
We built Spark to close that gap. Not to replace the judgment of the people doing this work, but to give them back the weeks they were spending on manual data pulls, so they can spend that time on the work itself.
What’s Free Today: Dashboards and Dorothy
Spark is live now, and it’s free. No credit card, no trial period, no catch.
Here’s what you get:
Live dashboards on hunger, housing, veterans services, and more, ready to explore the moment you land on the platform.
Dorothy, our AI analyst, answers your questions about community needs in plain language and shows her work every time. Ask her about food insecurity in a specific county, veteran housing gaps, or federal spending trends in your service area, and she’ll respond with an answer that links directly to its public source.
That last part matters more than it might sound. Dorothy draws from Census, USDA, HUD, VA, and USASpending data, and every answer she gives is traceable to its source. If the data doesn’t exist or isn’t available, she says so. She won’t guess, and she won’t fill a gap with something that sounds plausible but isn’t sourced. In a field where credibility is everything, that discipline is the whole point. An answer that can’t show its work is just a guess wearing a nicer outfit.
What’s Coming for Organizations: Glow, Ignite, and Beacon
Public data is a powerful starting point, but it’s not the whole story. Your organization has its own program data: intake numbers, service records, outcomes you’ve tracked for years. That data holds insights no public dataset can offer, but only if it’s usable.
That’s where our upcoming plans come in. Through Glow, Ignite, and Beacon, organizations will be able to bring their own program data onto Spark and combine it with the same cited, verifiable public data Dorothy already draws on. The result is a fuller picture: your outcomes, contextualized by the community conditions around them, all in one place, all backed by sources you can point to with confidence.
We’re building these plans the same way we built Spark: with the people who’ll actually use them.
Become a Founding Partner
We’re looking for a small group of founding partners, nonprofits, funders, and government agencies, to help shape Glow, Ignite, and Beacon before they launch broadly.
This isn’t a traditional beta test. It’s a seat at the table. Founding partners will work directly with our team to make sure these tools solve the real problems you face, not the ones we assume you face from the outside. In exchange, you get early access, a direct line to our product team, and a platform built with your workflows in mind from day one.
If your organization is doing the work of turning data into action and you’re tired of it taking longer than it should, we’d like to hear from you.

Data with heart means data that shows up for the people doing the work, not just the people who can afford a data team.
Explore the dashboards. Ask Dorothy a question. See what a cited answer looks like when it takes minutes instead of weeks.
No credit card. No catch. Just answers you can trust, and the reclaimed time to act on them.
